Peter Brown is the church treasurer.
Please contact him directly or through the church office if you have any questions
about our finances, or if you want to know more about how you can
give towards the work of our church. |

Four Financial Facts
|
|
1. It costs over £35,000 every year to pay for a
minister's wage, National insurance, housing and pension.
2. Costs are rising each year because of inflation and increasing
pension contributions, but our gifts aren't rising by the same amount.
3. A standing order (with Gift Aid if you can) to the church's bank
account is the most effective way to give.
4. Half of our regular income comes from just one quarter of our givers.
|
|
 |
Because
inflation and general cost
increases are still affecting us, please review your
giving thoughtfully and prayerfully we can balance our budget and look forward to
continuing growth.

The response to our last gift day was excellent
- with thirty families or individuals responding. Seventeen have
confirmed or increased their regular giving promises and many donated one-off gifts.
But don't wait for a gift day, review your giving now. |

What else can you do?
|
|
|
|
Please take a look around the rest of this section of the
website. There's some information on what we spend
and on how much money we expect to receive. You can also look at the
2008
accounts, which are the latest ones published here. Accounts for
2009 and 2010 are published on the Charity Commission website here. |
 |
|
But perhaps most importantly, please consider
prayerfully how you might give towards the work
of Wilford Church. You might find
the message on 'The Grace of Giving'
helpful.

Gift Aid message
|
|
|
|
Thank you to everyone for their regular donations to our
church. Those who have been able to Gift Aid their donations have
enabled us to claim £29,900 from the tax man for the last two tax
years (6th April 2008 to 5th April 2010). This was a little less
than previous years due to the tax rate having been reduced in April 2008
so that we can now claim only 25p for every £1 given rather than 28p.
Everyone for whom I made a claim should this week have
received a personal thank you note advising them of their own contribution
towards this total. If anyone has not and thinks they should would they
please get in touch.
