15 March 2009

End of the interregnum and the start of a new era

Well the time of interregnum draws to a close as we welcome Phil, Mandy and the children (not forgetting the dogs, the cats and the fish) into our church family. Next Sunday brings the formal bit with Phil’s licensing taking place with Bishop George and Archdeacon Peter Hill.

Phil Marsh

All are welcome to the service which licenses Phil as Priest in Charge of the Parish. As well as the parish Phil will be taking up the role of Chaplain of South Wilford and the Nottingham Emmanuel schools.

Phil’s licensing service marks the start of a new exciting era for us here in Wilford. There will be about 90 people joining us from Werrington, Phil’s previous parish, to "see him off" or make sure he is going! For us it is a time of celebration and you are all welcome to join us for the service and the celebration tea afterwards in the church halls.

We would both like to take this opportunity to thank all that have helped over the past months during the interregnum whether with leading, serving, manual help, prayer and encouragement. It has been great to see the spirit within the church that leads people to contribute in what ever way to make the community of the church continue and grow.

I hope you will join with us in this celebration as we look forward to the future.

Thanks and God bless

Eddie and Simon
Churchwardens
