Hannah Edmonds hopes to spend part of
summer 2009 in Ghana working with the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative
(see http://www.humanrightsinitiative.org/default.htm).
To do this she needs to raise £3,000. As part of her
fund-raising effort, Hannah will be performing in concert with Ruth Notman
at Wilford Parish Church on Saturday 10 January.
Hannah has played with Ruth for the last two years including performing
live for 'Whispering' Bob Harris on Radio 2 and at last summers Cambridge
Folk Festival, as well as on Ruth's debut album.
Ruth Notman is a former finalist in the BBC young folk musician of the
year. Her debut album 'Threads' received rave reviews from respected
critics in the national media, including from Mike Harding who said
"'Threads' is a stunning piece of work" - see http://www.ruth-notman.com/.
Tickets are just £6.00 and are available from Hannah Edmonds or from
Jonathan Shewell-Cooper (tel 0115 981 4005). The price includes
light refreshments and it will be a really excellent concert, so £6.00
really is a bargain.
