Wilford Village
Playgroup opened it's doors in January 1976 providing a much needed
Pre-school in the area. At that time the Playgroup was registered with the
social services and was a member of the Pre-school Playgroup association.

Since that time
things have moved on a bit, during the late 1990's the government
introduced the start of free nursery places for all 3 and 4 year olds and
many new regulations were introduced, among these were inspections by
ofsted, CRB checks for all staff working with children and the
introduction of the Care Standards.

The Pre-school is
a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance who help with training and
updates of the latest legislation. Information and help is also provided
by the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership who's office is
at the Sandfield Centre Lenton.

Wilford is a 42 place Pre-school providing high ratios of adults to children (on average
1:6), it provides 3 hours of education and care for children in the
surrounding area aged between 2 and 5 years.
The Pre-school is
a registered charity (No 10385502) with a parent management committee
who help with organising events and general decision making.
