Dear Parent/Carer

Feedback to Governors

It's been a couple of years now since the requirement for an annual governor meeting with parents was abolished.  One of the reasons for this was the poor attendance at this meeting for most schools.

But this does not mean you can't contact governors, particularly me, if you have something to ask or say.  The governors can only address any concerns you have about the school if you tell us about them - and I’m glad some of you do just that.

We are planning to conduct a survey of parents later this year.  The results from the last survey we did, and from the recent survey carried out by the Ofsted inspector, were very encouraging.  You seem to think that the school is doing the right things and that it's doing them well.

We intend using your views to inform our strategic planning process, in order to make the school even better for your children.

Finally, it is apparent to me as Chair of Governors that there is still some misunderstanding about the role of the governors and the role of the head teacher.  So I’ve included some very brief information on that topic here in the hope that it is of use to you.

If any of you have any questions, then please contact me directly or through the school office.
